Novato Glass is a family owned and operated business, established in 1968 by Dick Matthews. Dick took interest in the glass business after getting a summer job in the 1950'S at Larkspur Glass (now closed). the first glass company in Marin County. After attending College of Marin and working for Southern Pacific Railroad Dick went back into the glass business working for San Rafael Glass and Paint (which was instrumental in changing building codes to require safety glass in patio doors nationwide). Dick started Novato Glass with only himself and with a little help from his father he built the business to what it is today, an 1,100 plus square foot showroom and 12 employees. Sadly, Dick passed away in February 2010. Carrying on the torch are Dick's two sons Rick and Tom (the oldest two sons of his seven children). Serving Marin and Sonoma Counties and providing sales, service, repairs for residential and light commercial glazing, Novato Glass.
